Ecotrust Canada has created an FSC Chain-of-Custody Group for small- to medium-sized wood processors and distributors that provides a cost-effective way for these operators to become FSC certified. We assist members with acquiring and maintaining FSC certification and provide expertise in market development.

The green building boom and conscientious consumers are growing the demand for FSC-certified forest products in Europe and North America. In our management role with Iisaak Forest Resource, Ecotrust Canada has gained valuable experience in achieving market advantages through FSC certification.

FSC certified roundwood, lumber, and finished products are currently available from a growing number of B.C. coastal forestry operators including Iisaak Forest Resources in Ucluelet, the Ecotrust Canada Forest Management Group, and Inlailawatash Forest Products in North Vancouver. The area of FSC-certified forests in Canada grew by 30 percent in 2007 to 24 million hectares.
