Bella Bella Fish started its salmon season in 2005 without having to worry about the performance of aging equipment, thanks to a loan from Ecotrust Canada Capital to provide crucial maintenance work on the fish plant’s freezers. Bella Bella Fish has been in operation for over fifteen years and processes a wide variety of seafood throughout the year, including salmon, spawn-on-kelp, sea cucumbers, and clams.

Bella Bella Fish is a major employer in Bella Bella and is the main buyer of fish caught by local fishermen. It is a crucial economic development engine for the Heiltsuk nation, who live in remote villages and settlements on BC’s Central Coast.
