BC's coolest companies are Climate Smart

So far some 100 businesses and organizations have learned how to measure, reduce and offset their carbon footprint through Climate Smart. The companies have an average carbon footprint of approximately 497 tonnes. The reported savings more efficient energy and material use is $150,000.

On average, Climate Smart companies are committing to reduce their emissions by about nine percent over the next year. Reduction strategies include using more efficient lighting, reducing idling times in vehicles, investing in new energy-saving technologies, reorganizing delivery logistics, cutting paper use and other measures.
